Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading and driving the successful execution of large-scale, complex IT and strategic initiatives across the organization. This role will own projects from initiation through implementation and closeout, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, on budget, and aligned to business priorities.

 

The incumbent will lead cross-functional teams, drive alignment across stakeholders and executive sponsors, and proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and competing priorities. This individual will facilitate Steering Committee meetings, lead specialized project meetings, and present project updates, recommendations, and key decisions to executive leadership and company-wide forums, leveraging deep expertise in project management tools, methodologies, governance, and executive communication. Experience in digital transformation, change management, process improvement, and technical platform migration projects is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee complex technical and strategic initiatives using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies, and provide clear, decision-oriented reporting on progress, risks, dependencies, and emerging issues to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Own delivery of projects through successful completion, ensuring alignment to scope, timelines, budget, business objectives, and organizational priorities.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies, developing mitigation and escalation strategies in collaboration with project teams, stakeholders, and executive sponsors.
  • Drive prioritization and sequencing of work in alignment with business goals, strategic objectives, and resource constraints, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams to foster accountability, high performance, collaboration, and strong execution across multiple workstreams.
  • Build strong partnerships across teams, peers, senior leadership, and executive stakeholders to establish trust, drive alignment, and influence decisions and outcomes.
  • Contribute to and help advance project management practices, governance models, and business process improvements as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead high-visibility digital transformation, process improvement, and technical platform migration initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, change impacts, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Plan, facilitate, and manage Steering Committee meetings and governance forums for complex initiatives, ensuring alignment, decision-making, and accountability among executive stakeholders.
  • Lead specialized and ad-hoc forums as needed to drive project success, resolve cross-functional issues, and provide executive-level updates, recommendations, and escalation support.
  • Present project health, key decisions, risks, outcomes, and strategic recommendations confidently to executive teams, company-wide town hall meetings, and other leadership forums.
  • Mentor less experienced project managers or team members on project delivery practices, tools, and governance expectations.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage teams, senior leaders, and executive stakeholders, facilitate decision-making, and communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proven executive presentation skills, with the ability to present confidently to executive teams, lead high-visibility project updates, and communicate recommendations, tradeoffs, and decisions effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, competing priorities, and shifting business demands.
  • Ability to clearly articulate project strategy, scope, and outcomes, ensuring alignment with broader business goals, organizational priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and influence stakeholders without direct authority to drive alignment, accountability, and consensus.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled tools and workflows to enhance project management practices, including planning, reporting, risk analysis, stakeholder communications, meeting summaries, and decision support.
  • PMP Certification is required.
  • Agile certification (Scrum Master/Product Owner/Agile Certified Professional) is preferred.
  • Experience working with AI tools or a demonstrated willingness to learn.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a technology field. Will consider candidates with a high school diploma and at least 12 years of demonstrated technical project management experience across a variety of methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • 8+ years of demonstrated technical project management experience across a variety of methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Experience working in an Agile environment or enabling an Agile transformation.
  • Experience working within a PMO team structure is required.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, and other productivity solutions, Office 365, with advanced skills in PowerPoint for creating impactful presentations.
  • Proven experience managing IT, strategic, digital transformation, change management, and process improvement projects.
  • Experience with technical platform migration projects is required.
  • Experience facilitating and managing Steering Committee meetings for larger projects and presenting confidently to executive teams and company-wide forums.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of time, may also include overnight and international travel.
  • Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary.
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.
  • Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
