Position Summary

The Instructor Program Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of ISC2’s global instructor program, encompassing approximately 45 direct and 400 partner instructors. This role is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of instructor engagement, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance monitoring, and ongoing support.

 

The role ensures instructional excellence by upholding quality standards, fostering professional growth, and maintaining compliance with all instructor-related policies, procedures, and handbooks. They collaborate cross-functionally to align instructor practices with organizational goals and learner-centered principles, driving consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the instructor network.

 

The incumbent will oversee a dedicated team responsible for all instructor management functions, including onboarding, scheduling, and materials provisioning. This role ensures that all activities are executed consistently and strategically, aligning with organizational goals and maintaining high standards of instructional quality and compliance.

 

The ideal candidate is a recognized cybersecurity expert with a strong background in instruction and team leadership. They bring credibility, strategic vision, and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders. This role plays a critical part in advancing ISC2’s mission to deliver high-quality educational experiences that empower cybersecurity professionals pursuing globally respected certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of ISC2’s global instructor program, including direct management of staff supporting ~45 internal instructors and oversight of ~400 partner instructors.
  • Lead and support a team responsible for instructor onboarding, scheduling, training coordination, and materials provisioning, ensuring consistent execution aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of instructor engagement, including recruitment, onboarding, professional development, performance monitoring, and retention.
  • Ensure instructional excellence by maintaining high standards of delivery, adherence to instructional policies, and alignment with ISC2’s learner-centered principles.
  • Monitor instructor performance and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement, coaching, and recognition.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., content development, operations, marketing, and customer support) to ensure instructor readiness and alignment with program goals.
  • Maintain and enforce compliance with instructor-related policies, procedures, and handbooks across all delivery formats and regions.
  • Develop and implement scalable processes and tools to support instructor quality, consistency, and engagement globally.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader in cybersecurity education, representing ISC2 in internal and external forums to promote instructional excellence and program credibility.

Qualifications

  • Possess deep knowledge of cybersecurity and instructional delivery.
  • Policy development and compliance enforcement skills.
  • Skilled with instructor relations and stakeholder influence.
  • Change management and cohort facilitation skills.
  • Skilled at data-driven decision-making and reporting.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and digital training platforms.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Education, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree in those disciplines, preferred.
  • CISSP or CCSP certification required.
  • At least 8 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology.
  • At least 3 years of experience in instructional leadership or program management.
  • Experience managing large-scale instructor networks and partner relationships, desired.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of time. May also include overnight travel.
  • Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary.
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and computer screens.
