Position Summary

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Executive Director to lead the Center for Cybersecurity and Education at a pivotal time of growth and expansion.  You will hold ultimate responsibility for the Center’s mission, strategy, operations, and impact, to lead the Center through a pivotal phase of growth and transformation. You will also ensure alignment with ISC2’s global vision whilst independently driving the Center’s philanthropic and educational initiatives.

 

The Center has the opportunity to increase its impact on the cybersecurity profession, further fulfilling its mission as a 501(c)3 organization and deeply align with its parent organization ISC2.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and operational oversight for the Center’s strategy, programs, initiatives, and impact
  • Set the strategic direction of the Center in collaboration with the Board of Trustees and ISC2 leadership
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the Center’s mission and growth
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with members of the Board of Trustees, donors, partners, volunteers, and other key stakeholders
  • Oversee governance and compliance, ensuring the Center meets all legal, ethical, and operational standards as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
  • Lead program development, expansion and execution aligned with the Center’s mission and strategic goals
  • Represent the Center at public events, conferences, and in the media as a thought leader in cybersecurity education and philanthropy
  • Collaborate closely with ISC2 leadership to align philanthropic efforts with broader organizational goals
  • Serve as a senior leader and representative of ISC2 values internally and externally
  • Ensure financial sustainability through oversight of fundraising, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Responsible for ensuring alignment, performance, and accountability across all functions of the Center
  • Lead, develop and coach staff
  • Oversee and manage budgets
  • Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned.

Management Responsibility

  • This role will manage multiple direct reports

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex projects.
  • Experience working within and leading a global team (preferably a remote, distributed workforce) and managing consulting resources
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills for donor engagement, thought leadership, and advocacy
  • Strong computer and technical skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web applications
  • Familiarity with / interest in the global cybersecurity profession.  
  • Experience managing budgets and aligning financial strategy with mission outcomes

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in nonprofit organizations, with a strong track record of success
  • Proven experience in building and executing fundraising strategies, including major gifts, grants, and donor engagement.
  • Experience in association management at a leadership level and working with volunteers a plus

Physical and Mental Demands

  • 25% travel
  • Work extended hours, when necessary
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
  • Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
