The Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving the core internal systems that support day-to-day IT operations across the enterprise. This role plays a critical function in supporting the global infrastructure footprint with a focus on automation, reliability, security, and supportability. The ideal candidate is a self-managed, highly responsive individual who is passionate about operational excellence and comfortable handling both server-level infrastructure and end-user escalations.
This position serves as the primary escalation point for the Service Desk and is expected to lead in issue resolution across platforms such as Okta, JAMF, Active Directory, and Microsoft Azure. The role is well-suited for an entry to mid-level systems engineer who thrives in a remote environment and brings a strong customer service orientation alongside deep technical skills.
• Industry certifications such as ISC2 SSCP, CompTIA Security+, Network+, and Microsoft-related certifications (e.g. Microsoft Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals, etc.) are a plus.
• Familiarity with Okta SSO, SCIM/JIT provisioning, and user management.
• Knowledge of backup technologies such as Veeam and/or HYCU.
• Understanding of ITIL principles and Agile methodologies.
• Prior exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation tools is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; or at least 4 years of enterprise-level work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• 3+ years of enterprise-level systems administration experience.
• Experience managing and administering Qualys, JAMF, Active Directory, and enterprise PKI.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Azure AD, SharePoint, and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience working in ticketing systems such as Jira Service Management.
• Experience managing small-scale hypervisor environments (Nutanix or similar).
• Work during normal business hours to include extended hours when necessary.
• Support international locations, requiring off-hours work time.
• Travel up to 10% for onsite support.
• Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
• Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
• Occasionally, 10-15% of the time, transport and/or lift to 50 lbs. of equipment or packages, which may also involve squatting, bending, or kneeling. Must be able to crawl into spaces, i.e. under desks, etc.
