Position Summary

The Marketing Specialist, Events is passionate about working with our events marketing team to create and execute integrated marketing campaigns drive attendance, engagement and brand awareness for our ISC2 events portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a results-orientated, driven and collaborative team player who takes ownership of assigned events and works constructively with internal/external teams and partners. 

Responsibilities

  • Driven and collaborative team player who takes ownership of assigned events, constructively working with other departments, teams, and partners to proactively moves projects forward and seek resolutions to obstacles as they arise
  • Lead the execution of multiple event marketing campaigns, often concurrent, from start to finish, managing and meeting deadlines. Includes email, digital, social media, content, website, paid media and partner channels
  • Collaborate with creative, content, communications, internal event hosts and sales teams to ensure alignment of messaging and goals
  • Write or oversee marketing copy for landing pages, emails, paid ads, social media, newsletters and sponsor/speaker toolkits
  • Coordinate marketing efforts for speaker and sponsor promotion, including co-branded assets and out-reach
  • Oversee event website content updates, ensuring accuracy
  • Support audience segmentation and targeting strategies for new and returning attendees
  • Provide marketing support for on-site and virtual activations, including signage, programming and engagement
  • Responsible for tracking effectiveness of campaigns/projects weekly; Develop actionable, data-driven insights to inform team to enhance and create effective marketing strategies. Uses A/B testing when appropriate
  • Develop recap documents highlighting key insights and ROI, recommendations for future optimization and ensure distribution within 8 weeks post event
  • Pull weekly registration reports for all live events and update the respective Salesforce Campaign.
  • Upload all final ISC2 event attendees and booth leads into Salesforce within 3 days of event completion.
  • Ensure all final promotional emails, materials and documents for each campaign is accurately saved on SharePoint.
  • Conduct market, audience and competitive insights to identify new opportunities to help drive registration for our ISC2 events program. 
  • Stays informed on developments in the marketing discipline and within our sphere of influence: new techniques, ideas, channels, strategies, etc.

Qualifications

  • Excellent PC skills including MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), internet and web applications/navigation
  • Demonstrated ability to execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, email, social, content and paid media
  • Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud, Canva and Monday.com application knowledge a plus
  • CVENT experience preferred

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • 3 years’ experience planning, strategizing and managing integrated event marketing campaigns for digital, email, content, paid media and social (LinkedIn, X, AdWords, etc.)
  • IT, cybersecurity or association membership experience preferred

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Regular use of remote office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
  • May occasionally, approximately 10% of the time, transport and/or lift up to 30 lbs. of equipment or packages, which may also involve squatting, bending, or kneeling
