Position Summary

We are seeking a Manager, Global Benefits and Payroll with broad knowledge of benefit strategies and payroll compliance. This role will manage our Global Payroll Administrator and will be the lead developing benefits plans with our brokers and advisors and handling all administration and compliance needs. Current scope is our legal entities in US, UK, HK and Singapore. Critical to the success of this role is promoting a positive employee experience from onboarding through the full employee life cycle. The Manager, Global Benefits and Payroll will encourage positive employee relations while ensuring compliance with all related processes, policies and laws.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and administers employee insurance programs including life, disability, and health insurance plans.
  • Administers employee savings plans that may include the company’s 401(k) plan, personal savings plans, and deferred compensation programs.
  • Advises and informs employees of changes and developments related to benefits including eligibility, coverage, and provisions.
  • Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
  • Oversees all payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payroll.
  • Works collaboratively with Finance to ensure compliance to audit / process controls.
  • Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Identifies and selects carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience.
  • Monitors administrators’ and insurance carriers’ reports to ensure the organization’s compliance with plan requirements.
  • Ensures the organization’s and plans’ compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA
  • Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in benefit administration. Designs and implements proper internal processes 
  • 401k Audit & Workers Comp Audit support.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Management Responsibility

Employee Development - Provide feedback & coaching to direct report. Take a mentoring role to challenge and develop direct report.

 

Qualifications

ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Extensive knowledge of employee benefits in the US and at least 1 other country.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with HRIS tools, including payroll API's to benefit providers.

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

• Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related required.

• Ten years of experience administering benefits programs required.

• Seven years of experience in payroll administration for the U.S. and at least one other country.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Ability to travel up to 10% of time.

• Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary.

• Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.

• Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens.

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
